CIPP/G Certification Training (US Government) is the first publicly available privacy certification designed for employees of U.S. federal, state, county and local government agencies. It also is available to vendors, suppliers and consultants who serve government clients.

Developed by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the CIPP/G addresses U.S. government privacy laws, regulations and policies specific to government practice, as well as those more broadly applicable to the public and private sectors in the U.S. This CIPP/G Certification Training also covers U.S. government standard practices for privacy program development and management, privacy compliance and auditing, records management, and agency reporting obligations for privacy.

CIPP/G Certification Training Details:

The IAPP CIPP/G is the first publicly available privacy certification designed for employees of U.S. federal, state, county and local government agencies. CIPP/G Certification is also recommended for vendors, suppliers and consultants who serve government clients. The CIPP/G credential demonstrates deep knowledge of U.S. government privacy laws, regulations and policies specific to government practice as well familiarity with those more broadly applicable to the public and private sectors in the U.S. The CIPP/G Common Body of Knowledge also covers U.S. government standard practices for privacy program development and management, privacy compliance and auditing, records management and agency reporting obligations for privacy.

The CIPP/G exam consists of 60 scored multiple-choice items and 20 non-scored multiple-choice trial items. The passing score is 300 out of 500 possible points.

The CIPP/US exam consists of 75 scored multiple-choice items and 15 non-scored multiple-choice trial items. The passing score is 300 out of 500 possible points.

The CIPP/C exam consists of 60 scored multiple-choice items and 20 non-scored multiple-choice trial items. The passing score is 300 out of 500 possible points.

The CIPP/E exam consists of 60 scored multiple-choice items and 20 non-scored multiple-choice trial items. The passing score is 300 out of 500 possible points.

CIPP/G Recertification:

CIPP/G Certification Renewal

CIPP/G is valid for two years. To maintain your credential, you must meet two minimum requirements over the term of your certification:

» Pay an annual certification maintenance fee (included in IAPP’s membership fee).
» Fulfill 20 hours of continuing privacy education (CPE).
