Students who attend this advanced course must have experience in configuring Cisco® IOS®
software and the PIX Firewall and have met the following prerequisites:
- Certification as a CCNA® or the equivalent knowledge (optional)
- At least six months' practical experience configuring Cisco® routers and PIX Firewalls
- Competency in using the Windows NT operating system.
- Familiarity with implementing network security policies and the following networking concepts:
- Perimeter security system components: perimeter router, firewall, bastion host
- Servers: syslog server, web and FTP servers
- IPSec concepts: IKE, IPSec, encryption, authentication, CA servers

and use CSPM 2.3f to manage Cisco® VPN routers and the PIX Firewall. |

After completing this course the student should be able to:
- Identify CSPM features, terminology, components, and job processes
- Build a network topology of managed devices consisting of a Cisco® router and PIX Firewall
- Create, apply, and test security policies for managed devices
- Configure CSPM to support IPSec tunnels between CSPM, a Cisco® router, and a PIX Firewall
- Define monitoring settings and create reports with CSPM
