Introduction:

The FCC has mandated that all Commercial Mobile Radio Service (CMRS) providers extend emergency 911 calls to the local Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). The mandate not only includes call setup, but callback and precise location information. This course looks at how the network needs to communicate that information to meet the FCC mandate.

Exercises are provided throughout the course, re-enforcing a practical understanding of the material.

This 2-3-day Wireless E911 course will be customized to your needs and specifications. Eno.com will assist you in identifying those needs and specifications. A word to the wise, there are many vendors of E911 training. They will typically have a broad and general course, one size fits all, already developed and just put your organization?s name on the title slide. This minimizes their effort and time investment. At Eno.com, every course is made to your exact and exacting specifications. We help you ensure what you are getting is what you really need even if at the beginning you weren't too sure of what that was. We fit the class to your needs. We never fit you into our standard, one size fits all, class.

Objectives:

In this course you will learn how emergency calls are routed. We will then look at the current mandates and how they affect wireless networks. Phase I and Phase II standards will be explored and explained. Network-based and handset-based options for determining mobile location will be examined.
