With Client Site Medical Coding Training, courses can be scheduled on a date that is convenient for you, and because they can be scheduled at your location, you don't incur travel costs and students won't be away from home. An additional advantage is that the class is taught on your equipment, so students are learning in their work environment rather than in a classroom setup.
Onsite classes can also be tailored to meet your needs. You might shorten a 10-day Medical Coding class into a 5-day class, or combine portions of several related courses into a single course, or have the instructor vary the emphasis of topics depending on your staff's and site's requirements. We require a minimum of 5 employees and above.
Medical Coding:
Every healthcare provider that delivers a service receives money for these services by filing a claim with the patient's health insurance provider or managed care organization. This is also referred to as an encounter. An encounter is defined as "a face-to-face contact between a healthcare professional and an eligible beneficiary."
All types of encounters, services, tests, treatments, supplies and procedures provided to a patient in a medical office, clinic, or hospital have a code which consists of a set of numbers and combinations of sets of numbers. Even patient complaints such as headache, upset stomach, etc. have codes!
The combination of these codes tells the payer (health insurance companies or government entities) what was wrong with the patient, whether treatment was necessary, and what services were performed. This makes it easier to handle these claims and to identify the provider on a predetermined basis.

Medical coders and billers are employed by hospitals, clinics, physicians' offices, health maintenance organizations (HMOs), mental health care facilities, nursing homes, insurance companies, consulting firms, health data organizations and information system vendors. The more education you have, the more employment options you will have available.
