| This tutorial covers area 5 of the Test Management Body of Knowledge (TMBOK) required for the
Certified Test Manager (CTM) certification. This tutorial also covers the Elective area of the Certified Software
Test Professional requirements. |

This seminar shows you reproducible and defensible methods for analyzing, prioritizing and
managing risk in your test project. It is full of real world case studies that show you how these methods have
been applied to various types of testing projects including; traditional waterfall, incremental spiral, rapid application
development (RAD) and Agile/eXtreme projects. You will learn methods and metrics that help you plan, size and negotiate
for the resources to conduct your optimal test effort. You will learn how to use S-Curves and other tools to evaluate
your test progress and results so that you can accurately predict time lines, test effectiveness, and project stability.
When you use this best practice risk based approach to manage your test effort you are insuring that your effort
is focused on the most important things, that you have the tools to accurately evaluate the stability and reliability
of the project under test, and that you are in a position to fix problems before they become major issues. This
risk base approach to managing your testing project will give you good answers to questions like,
- How long will it take? How much will it cost? Why so much? Can you do it in less time?
- Is it ready to ship? Where are the problem areas? What are the risks if we ship it?

| Objectives: |
| |
|
Participants will learn how to:
- Identify and quantify risk criteria and rank index for risk analysis in your projects
- Construct a test inventory and use it to conduct risk analysis
- Use Risk analysis, the test inventory and S-curves it to plan, execute, and measure your
projects' progress and success
- Combine various measurements from your risk analysis, S-curves and bug reporting to provide
high quality information about the ongoing status and health of your project.
