This learning path will help the student to understand the techniques and procedures for preventing problems before they escalate, and recognize and respond to violence in the workplace.

After learning this courses you should be able to:

Recognize the warning signs of potential workplace violence and formulate a basic violence reduction strategy
understand the factors that can provoke workplace aggression and cause aggression to escalate
apply hostility reduction techniques
understand when early-stage discipline is an appropriate strategy and apply the S.A.F.E. model of confrontation to a disciplinary meeting
recognize behaviors that could lead to violence in the workplace and the S.A.F.E model of confrontation to an intervention meeting
identify situations in which termination may be appropriate for dealing with violent employees, and apply the S.A.F.E model of confrontation to a termination meeting
