Target Audience
An individual who provides basic support and administrative functions of the Data ONTAP operating system
Prerequisites:
Data ONTAP Fundamentals 3 years of experience in a storage related function, such as Storage Administrator, or
Field Engineer Storage specialist 6 months experience with NetApp Storage solutions
Course Objective:
Candidates will learn:
- Describe the basic functions of the Data ONTAP operating system
- Access the NOW™ (NetApp on the Web) Knowledgebase to obtain software and hardware documentation
- Set up console access for a storage system
- Configure a storage system with the setup command
- Access FilerView and the command line to manage a storage system
- Configure and manage the AutoSupport service for a FAS storage system
- Define and create virtual interfaces (vifs) and VLANs
- Describe Data ONTAP RAID technology
- Calculate usable disk space of disks Define and create an aggregate and volume
- Define FlexClone volume
- Configure the storage system as an NFS server and CIFS server
- Configure a multiprotocol environment Configure a LUN for SAN environments
- Configure, create and restore Snapshot copies
- Describe the WAFL file system, including consistency points, tetris creation, RAID management,
and storage levels
- Collect performance data
- Use FlexShare
- Configure an Active-Active configuration
