Prerequisites

Experience of configuration and administration of Windows NT, familiarity with the Windows 95 or Windows NT user interface, familiarity with managing end-user accounts in an NT environment, knowledge of SQL or Transact-SQL, and an understanding of the role of a database administrator

To show students how to perform basic administrative tasks using SQL Server 7.0

Identify the Enterprise Manager taskpads and wizards for administering SQL Server 7.0. Show how to register a server using Enterprise Manager. Outline how to configure clients and network protocols. Point out how to configure SQL Server Agent, SQL Server Mail, and SQL Server Agent Mail. Summarize how to enable, create, and manage an index supporting Full-Text Search. Describe the function and installation of SQL Server OLAP Services and Microsoft English Query.
